Termination of contract after doping ban

Juventus Turin and Paul Pogba part ways. As announced by the “Old Lady”, the contract which initially ran until the summer of 2026 will be terminated by mutual agreement on November 30. The 31-year-old central midfielder, whose doping suspension was recently shortened, will soon be able to sign for a new club for free at any time.
Juve sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli previously announced that Pogba was set to leave the Bianconeri. “Paul was a great player. Last year and this year, we were forced to invest in other players, and our position is clear: at the moment, our squad is complete. » With Teun Koopmeiners, Khéphren Thuram and Douglas Luiz, Juventus recruited three players this summer who were in Pogba’s team positions. Additionally, at the end of last season, Nicolò Fagioli returned from his ban for illegal sports betting.
Pogba had elevated testosterone levels during a test last August after a Serie A match between Juventus and Udinese Calcio. Sample B confirmed the result. Pogba had appealed the decision to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) and denied using banned means to enhance his performance. He admitted to having taken a dietary supplement whose instructions mentioned performance-enhancing substances. However, the competent Italian sports court suspended him for four years at the end of February.
However, the International Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that Pogba had not doped intentionally and in October reduced the Frenchman’s doping ban from four years to 18 months. This means Pogba will be able to play (Site notre bureau spécialisé) again from March next year. But not in Turin. There have been rumors recently regarding MLS or a return to France.
