FC St. Pauli has announced its second winter signing: winger Noah Weißhaupt (23) comes from SC Freiburg. Like James Sands (24 years old, New York City FC), presented the day before, the Rostock native is on loan. On the left flank, Hamburg suffered from the prolonged absence of Elias Saad (25 years old) in the first part of the season. Weißhaupt was also used on the right side of the sports club.
“Noah brings a lot of speed, which he uses intelligently in duel situations and repeatedly poses problems for the opposing defense,” explained head coach Alexander Blessin. « That’s why we hope that Noah can develop even more danger and scoring ability with him, because he can also put his teammates in the spotlight with his through balls. FC St. Pauli has had so far a problem. » This season offensively is something else. Twelve goals this season is the lowest total of any Bundesliga team. Thanks to the second best defense with only 19 goals conceded, the brown-whites currently occupy a satisfactory 14th place.
At Millerntor, Weißhaupt is the fourth player on the team with a Freiburg background. Midfielder Robert Wagner is also on loan, while Weißhaupt’s possible new left-wing colleagues Philipp Treu (24) and Carlo Boukhalfa (25) are also under contract with St. Pauli. Sports director Andreas Bornemann emphasized: “With this commitment, we create additional opportunities for our play on the offensive wings and are therefore more difficult to calculate in the future. Noah is very well trained in (Site notre bureau spécialisé) and, in addition to his dynamism, he also has the flexibility to be able to play on both sides. He has a lot of experience in the Bundesliga, which is why we are confident that he will immediately play a good role for us.
Weißhaupt said: “I am looking forward to my time in Hamburg and playing in front of the Millerntor fans. I think I will find very good conditions at FC St. Pauli to take the next step in my development. After all, it also worked very well for other Freiburg players. It will now be a matter of arriving as quickly as possible in this new environment so that we can then be recommended for missions. »
