Six straight losses
Guerino Capretti wanted to initiate a ‘positive trend reversal’ at FC Ingolstadt 04, but after winning ten games and losing six in a row, the 41-year-old is due to retire after just two months. The third division team, which slipped to 14th place, announced on Tuesday the separation from Capretti, the team will be taken care of by former assistant Maniyel Nergiz on an interim basis. A successor will be presented soon.
“Rino took over the team at the beginning of February and tried to turn things around under difficult circumstances. Unfortunately, we weren’t successful and continued to lose ground,” said managing director Dietmar Beiersdorfer. « After the last six defeats and only four points in ten games, we are currently in a key moment where we will do everything possible to pull the curve out of the relegation vortex. Due to the sporting slowdown, we must act to score points the as quickly as possible and put the team back on the path to success.
FC Ingolstadt 04 released Guerino Capretti as head coach on Tuesday morning. After the sixth straight loss, officials felt compelled to release the 41-year-old with immediate effect.
