Karlsruher SC is trying to compensate for the departure of top scorer Budu Zivzivadze (30) with an old acquaintance. As “Sky” reports, the second-placed team in the 2nd Bundesliga has agreed in principle with 1. FC Heidenheim on the transfer of Mikkel Kaufmann. There is a loan from the Dane in the room. The completion of the deal now only depends on the commitment of the 24-year-old, who has not yet decided what to do next.

One is gone, the other is expected to return: FCH recently signed Zivzivadze, currently the best second division shooter from KSC, opening a gap in Baden’s offensive. Kaufmann was previously loaned to Karlsruhe from his parent club FC Copenhagen in the summer of 2022 and had scored 19 goals in 32 competitive matches.

The striker joined Union Berlin in the Bundesliga for 2.7 million euros in 2023, but failed to establish himself permanently with the Iron Men (19 appearances in 509 minutes). Last summer, 1. FC Heidenheim signed Kaufmann and paid a transfer fee of 1.25 million euros. The former HSV professional played 17 games (no goals, one assist) in 853 minutes in Brenz. Zivzivadze’s commitment, however, does not improve Kaufmann’s prospects at Heidenheim.
