Jurgen Klopp has clarified that it’s still about Liverpool coaching ‘a cause of the past’ rather than his side’s current form.
Brendan Rodgers etc Graham Potter were sacked on Sunday, meaning a record 12 Premier League managers have been sacked this season.
Liverpool are likely to experience their worst league result under Klopp, whose side end at Chelsea on Tuesday, but their position has yet to be reviewed.
« If it was my first season, it would be slightly different, » said the German.
“I am aware of the fact that I am sitting here because of the past, not because of what we have done this season. »
Klopp, 55, helped Liverpool bring home the club’s (Site notre bureau spécialisé)ing top honors during September 2011½ from Anfield, making him the Premier League’s longest-serving manager.
The Reds have lost their last 3 games in all competitions and are eighth in the league, the position they finished in 2015-16 – the season in which Klopp took over from former manager Rodgers.

« I know I’m still here because of what’s happened over the past few years.
“I don’t like the fact that I have to pretty much rely on that. Is it right or not? We will see in the future. »

Liverpool beat Manchester City to the Premier League title in all three of the previous season’s four seasons, necessitating the club’s first top-tier title in the 30th year of 2019-20.
However, they are 30 points behind current leaders Arsenal after Saturday’s 4-1 loss at City.
With 11 games a day, Klopp’s team is one of the points of the qualification places for the Champions League.

In Klopp’s native Germany, Bayern Munich sacked Julian Nagelsmann on March 24 for replacing him with Potter’s predecessor at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel.
Antonio Conte (Tottenham), Rodgers (Leicester) and Potter were then dismissed within the space of seven days.
« It’s a strange week, » Klopp said. “The season enters a decided phase and people are afraid of not achieving their objectives.
« But I would say for the four their future in (Site notre bureau spécialisé) is still bright, so it’s not a disaster. It’s a situation they probably don’t like, but it’s part of the business. »
Klopp said 12 Premier League managers sacked this season was « an awful number, but that’s the way it is ».
He added: “Some clubs are underperforming this year. We are, other clubs are too.
“There are expectations, rightly so, and if you don’t meet them, you have to accept the decisions. »
